Who we are
The Forum of Judicial Studies was established to advance critical and scholarly engagement with the judicial decisions that shape the contours of constitutional democracy. Rooted in the belief that careful analysis of precedent informs the future of governance, the Forum seeks to foster rigorous discussion of court cases, judicial reasoning, and constitutional interpretation across historical and contemporary contexts.
The Forum is the creation of Dr. Harlan G. Powell, a distinguished scholar of constitutional law and judicial behavior. Dr. Powell envisioned a platform where academic inquiry and public discourse could converge — a space dedicated to analyzing the evolving role of the courts in democratic society.
